Job summary

University of North Texas System in Denton is seeking a Director of Foundation Relations to drive private foundation and corporate support. You will lead proposals, perform prospect research, and manage stewardship and reporting, while working closely with CFR and university partners.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and several years of fundraising experience, with strong project management and relationship-building skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and four years of related professional experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Knowledge of philanthropy and fundraising principles; ability to assimilate information quickly.
• Experience supervising others and managing multiple priorities across teams.
• Ability to build professional relationships with internal and external contacts and manage complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate proposal development projects from concept through submission, establishing timelines and ensuring competitive proposals.
• Coordinate and organize submission materials, ensuring accuracy and compliance with funder guidelines and approvals.
• Review and assemble grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and donor requests with CFR colleagues and faculty.
• Guide content creation and submit proposals for opportunities identified by CFR, faculty, or advancement colleagues.
• Create reusable content for multiple proposals aligned with university priorities and initiatives.
• Conduct proactive research of foundation and corporate funding opportunities; prepare briefs and recommendations.
• Support faculty and staff with guidance on proposal requirements, funding strategies, and institutional processes.
• Prepare briefing materials for meetings and maintain a centralized grants calendar with deadlines and milestones.
• Track post-award reporting requirements and collaborate with directors to ensure proper use of funds and timely reports.
• Maintain stewardship plans and reporting to funders to support retention and renewal strategies.
