Position Overview
Primary Purpose of Position

The Director for Academic Space Planning and Management isresponsible for Capital and Space Planning and Management for theuniversity, aligning space and physical resources with strategicvision to support N.C. A&T’s tripartite mission of teaching,research, and outreach. This position plans new facilities to meetprogrammatic needs and priorities of the campus including space andfacility projects to support university growth areas andinitiatives, development of strategies to improve utilizationofexisting space, and to develop strategies for environmentallyfriendly initiatives. This position will analyze and utilize spacedata to collaborate in the strategic and long-range planning forthe programming, design, and development of campus space,properties, and facilities, including buildings, infrastructure,and landscape projects; research, design and program guidelines;compliance with environmental planning regulations andarchitectural design review.

Primary Function of Organizational Unit

North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University ( NCAT )is an 1890 land-grant doctoral research university dedicated tolearning, discovery, and community engagement, advancing the humancondition and facilitating economic growth It is the largesthistorically black college or university ( HBCU ) in the nation andits enrollment exceeds 15,000 students, approximately 2000 of whomare graduate students. The students are served by more than 700faculty, teaching at the baccalaureate, masters and doctorallevels. Minimum Requirements

Relevant post-Baccalaureate degree required in interior design,architecture,urban design,urban planning, or a closely relatedfield, and have a minimum of 6 years of professional-levelexperience in campus or urban planning, land use planning, facilitydata management, facilities assessment, space utilization analysis,or related fields or
