Job summary

Capital Area Food Bank (CAFB) is seeking a Director of Food Procurement to lead strategic sourcing and purchasing for the region. You will guide procurement strategy, manage vendor and contract relationships, and oversee the annual food budget to support programs and partners.

In this role, you will partner with Operations and program teams, use data to forecast needs, and drive innovations like Food is Medicine pilots while ensuring compliance with regulations and fiscal stewardship.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in supply chain management, business administration, agriculture, or related field.
• 7+ years of strategic sourcing, logistics and/or food procurement.
• Leadership/management experience.
• Experience managing significant budgets, vendor relationships, contract and procurement activities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute annual food procurement strategy and plans.
• Manage vendor relationships, contracts and procurement activities.
• Oversee budgeting, spending analysis and forecasting.
• Collaborate across CAFB divisions to optimize supply chain and inventory.
• Ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
