Job summary

Barry-Wehmiller Design Group, Nanuet, NY, seeks a Director of Controls System Integration for the food and beverage sector. You will lead a team of electrical and automation engineers through the full project life cycle, from conception to start-up, delivering integrated manufacturing systems for major clients.

You will drive client development, manage risks, mentor staff, and ensure high-quality solutions while traveling as needed for installations and meetings.

Qualifications

• 10–12 years of technical and people-management experience in the Food & Beverage industry.
• Experience managing control system integration and capital projects.
• Ability to develop electrical schematics, PLC programming, and HMI/SCADA.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; strong client interaction.
• Willingness to travel for installations, meetings, trainings.
• Bachelor's degree in electrical/ mechanical engineering or CS; PE preferred.
• Proven leadership, mentoring, and project oversight.

Responsibilities

• Lead client development in the Food & Beverage market and grow Design Group's services.
• Manage and mentor a team of electrical and automation engineers across projects.
• Define complex system integration solutions and oversee scheduling, risks, and quality.
• Develop and execute projects from conception to start-up with client alignment.
• Coordinate with discipline leaders and project teams to share lessons learned and ensure objectives are met.
