Current is seeking a hands-on Finance Director (FP&A) to partner with firm leadership across New York and New Jersey. The role owns planning, reporting, and analytics, driving performance with strong business judgment and executive presence.

The ideal candidate brings deep FP&A expertise, GAAP proficiency, and experience in professional services or multi-entity organizations, with a focus on delivering actionable insights and scalable processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
• 10+ years of FP&A, corporate finance, or related experience with hands-on partnering.
• Experience in professional services or multi-entity businesses advantageous.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and advanced financial modeling skills.

Responsibilities

• Own monthly/quarterly financial reporting and explain variances to leadership.
• Lead annual budget, long-range planning, and rolling forecasts.
• Define KPIs for revenue, margin, utilization, and profitability.
• Partner with leaders on growth initiatives, pricing, and resources.
• Develop scenario analyses for investments, acquisitions, and market expansion.
• Improve FP&A infrastructure, dashboards, and self-service analytics.

About the Role

Adeptus Partners is seeking a hands-on Finance Director to serve as the embedded financial partner to firm and regional leadership. Reporting to the Regional Vice President at Current, this role will own financial planning, reporting, forecasting, business analytics, and cost management while helping leaders understand the operational drivers behind performance. The ideal candidate combines deep FP&A expertise with strong business judgment, executive presence, and a willingness to work directly in the details. This role requires regular engagement with Adeptus offices across New York and New Jersey, and candidates must be based in the NY Metro area.

Responsibilities

• Own monthly and quarterly financial reporting, translating performance, variances, and underlying drivers into clear recommendations for leadership.

• Lead the annual budget, long-range planning, and rolling forecasting processes.

• Define and monitor KPIs across revenue, margin, utilization, realization, client profitability, and other key operating metrics.

• Partner closely with firm and regional leaders on growth initiatives, operational performance, resource allocation, pricing, and other strategic decisions.

• Investigate performance issues to identify root causes, leading indicators, and actionable opportunities for improvement.

• Develop scenario models and analyses supporting investments, acquisitions, market expansion, and other strategic alternatives.

• Support financial diligence, integration modeling, synergy tracking, and other acquisition-related activity.

• Drive follow-through on financial recommendations and ensure resulting actions are carried through to completion.

• Improve FP&A infrastructure, reporting processes, dashboards, automation, and self-service analytics in partnership with Corporate Finance teams.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.

• 10+ years of progressive FP&A, corporate finance, or related experience, including significant hands-on business partnering.

• Experience within professional services, a PE-backed platform, or another multi-entity or multi-location business.

• Advanced financial modeling skills and strong understanding of GAAP, financial statements, and services-business economics.

• Experience with ERP, planning, and BI tools such as NetSuite, Adaptive, SAP, Anaplan, Power BI, Tableau, Databricks, or similar platforms.

• Strong executive communication skills with the ability to turn complex financial and operational information into a clear point of view.

• Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders, solve ambiguous problems, and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.

• Based in the New York Metro area.

Preferred Qualifications

• MBA and/or CPA.

• Experience supporting accounting, consulting, or other professional services businesses.

• Experience within a high-growth or acquisition-driven organization.
