Job summary

CFS in Madison, WI is seeking a Director of Finance to lead the Accounting & Finance function and report directly to the Board of Directors. The role focuses on strategic financial leadership, systems modernization, and ensuring strong internal controls.

You will manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting for executive leadership, mentor the finance team, and present recommendations to ownership groups.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
• Law Practice or Law Firm Industry experience - Required.
• Experience creating and managing budgets, forecasting, and financial reporting.
• Prior experience presenting recommendations to executive leadership, ownership groups, or Boards.
• CPA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Accounting & Finance function, including month-end and year-end close processes.
• Drive strategic initiatives and oversee implementation of major business systems and process improvements.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting for executive leadership and the Board of Directors.
• Evaluate and improve financial, accounting, billing, and accounts receivable processes.
• Develop, mentor, and lead the finance team.
• Provide financial recommendations and insights to leadership and the Board.
