Responsible for strategic and people leadership of the Field Sales Training organization across multiple products, therapeutic areas, and commercial business units. Develops the Field Sales Training strategy and translates broader Commercial priorities into scalable learning, capability, and performance solutions that enable field teams to deliver business results. Provides second-line leadership to managers and experienced learning professionals, building organizational capability through coaching, talent development, succession planning, and a culture of continuous learning. Partners with senior Commercial and cross-functional leadership to identify current and future learning capability needs and oversees the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of initial, ongoing, launch, and advanced sales training using blended learning strategies aligned with adult learning principles and business objectives.
BS/BA degree in an applicable field AND 12+ years of applicable experience, including significant experience in sales training, learning and development, commercial capability, or a similar relevant discipline OR Master's degree in an applicable field AND 10+ years relevant experience as noted above AND Demonstrated second-line leadership experience is preferred, with experience leading people leaders and high-performing teams AND Experience leading training teams and/or learning strategies supporting multiple products and business units is strongly preferred Progressive pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, or healthcare commercial experience with strong knowledge of field sales organizations, sales effectiveness, and commercial operating environments Extensive learning and development and sales training experience, including strategy, curriculum architecture, instructional design, facilitation, measurement, and program implementation from concept through field execution Demonstrated second-line people leadership capabilities, including coaching leaders, building impactful teams, developing talent, strengthening succession pipelines, and sustaining engagement and accountability across teams Demonstrated experience leading training organizations or learning strategies across multiple products, brands, therapeutic areas, and/or business units, balancing common capabilities with differentiated business needs Strong experience developing and executing successful product launch training programs, annual Plan of Action cycle training, new hire onboarding, and ongoing capability development Excellent knowledge and demonstrated application of adult learning principles, blended learning methodologies, learning technology, reinforcement strategies, and performance measurement Demonstrated success partnering with senior Commercial leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to identify capability needs, shape strategy, and deliver solutions with broad organizational impact Experience managing budgets, vendors, resources, and complex portfolios of concurrent learning initiatives Recognized as an internal thought leader with extensive business, commercial, and functional expertise; able to translate complex strategy into operational and tactical plans Demonstrated strategic mindset with the ability to develop multi-year plans, anticipate emerging business and industry needs, assess risk, and adapt priorities as conditions evolve Excellent business acumen and judgment; able to lead complex cross-functional decision-making, prioritize based on strategic impact, and operate effectively amid ambiguity Exceptional relationship-building, collaboration, and influencing skills with demonstrated ability to work effectively with senior leaders and diverse cross-functional stakeholders Strong interpersonal, written, verbal, presentation, facilitation, and executive communication skills; able to tailor messages to varied audiences and ensure clear, consistent communication across teams Highly motivated, innovative, analytical, and operationally focused; demonstrates learning agility, sound judgment, and a continuous improvement mindset #LI-OB1 Neurocrine Biosciences is an EEO/Disability/Vets employer. The annual base salary we reasonably expect to pay is $188,300.00-$257,000.00. Individual pay decisions depend on various factors, such as primary work location, complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 35% of the earned base salary and eligibility to participate in our equity based long term incentive program.
