An established industry player is seeking a Director of Federal Government Affairs to lead legislative strategies that advance the nuclear sector's agenda. This role involves building strong relationships with Congress and key administration personnel, enhancing their understanding of commercial nuclear technology. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in political and policy matters, particularly in energy and tax legislation. This position offers a unique opportunity to influence key legislative priorities and contribute to the nuclear industry's growth and success within a collaborative and impactful environment.
The Director, Federal Government Affairs is responsible, at the direction of the Senior Director, Federal Government Affairs, for designing tactics and strategy to accomplish the legislative agenda of the leadership, the Board, the Executive Committee, and the members of the Nuclear Energy Institute.
Five years’ experience in working for and with the Congress, the Administration, and the business community on political and policy matters with particular emphasis on energy, tax, environment, and trade.
Extensive knowledge of congressional and legislative processes and procedures, including tax legislation, the budgeting and authorization actions. Background in the technical aspects of nuclear-related issues is helpful.
For employees who live in the Washington, DC Metro area, the salary range for this position is $148,880 to $223,320 annually. Typically, new hires are brought into the organization at a salary range between the minimum and midpoint, depending on qualifications, internal equity, and the budgeted salary for the role.
An undergraduate degree or equivalent required, advanced degree is preferred.
