Job summary

Loyola University Chicago seeks a Director of Scholarship and Career Advancement to lead faculty support for research and career development. The role shapes vision, designs programs, and launches initiatives aligning with the University’s strategic plan and Ignatian Pedagogical Paradigm.

The position requires strong leadership, collaboration, and ability to manage multiple initiatives with graduate interns and staff. Exempt full-time purpose-built in-person role.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in higher education, instructional design, human relations, or related field is required.
• At least five years of progressive related experience.

Responsibilities

• Reporting to the Executive Director of the new Center for Faculty Development, the Director of Scholarship and Career Advancement provides leadership for faculty support for research, scholarship, mentoring, leadership, and career advancement; shapes the vision, sets goals, designs leading-edge programs, and launches initiatives that align with Loyola’s commitment to enhance faculty scholarship and career success so that all faculty can thrive.
• This is a high-level leadership position with broad impact on individual faculty and university culture; leads innovation and impact in learning opportunities for instructors through asynchronous resources, workshops, and programs; collaborates across the faculty development ecosystem; oversees graduate student interns and assistants.
• Creates and coordinates a multi-modal, developmentally sequenced array of education and training programs to enhance faculty research, scholarship, mentoring, and career development; helps develop the Center’s strategic framework and the University’s strategic plan.
• Other duties as assigned.
