Job summary

Chippenham Hospital in Richmond, VA, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a Director of Facilities Management to lead programs that maintain buildings, grounds and equipment while coordinating utility systems and safety initiatives.

The role requires 5 years of hospital maintenance experience (10 years preferred), a high school diploma (engineering degree preferred), and strong leadership. The position is incentive eligible with a salary range of $96,137.60 to $153,816.00 per year.

Qualifications

• Five years of hospital maintenance experience is required.
• Ten years hospital maintenance experience is preferred.
• High school diploma is required.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manages programs to maintain buildings, grounds and equipment.
• Manages the procurement/generation of all utilities and their distribution systems
• Coordinates Maintenance activities with other Departments in order to ensure safe and efficient operations of the Hospital.
• Recommends development of physical facilities and reviews/approves plans of construction.
• Acts as liaison with contractors, architects, engineers, and material and equipment suppliers.
• Establishes and manages Preventive Maintenance Programs.

Job Summary And Qualifications

• Manages programs to maintain buildings, grounds and equipment.
• Manages the procurement/generation of all utilities and their distribution systems
• Coordinates Maintenance activities with other Departments in order to ensure safe and efficient operations of the Hospital.
• Recommends development of physical facilities and reviews/approves plans of construction.
• Acts as liaison with contractors, architects, engineers, and material and equipment suppliers.
• Establishes and manages Preventive Maintenance Programs.
• Periodically inspects buildings and utility systems in order to determine need for alterations/ repairs.
• May direct safety, fire control, and civil defense programs
• Manages Departmental personnel in conformance with established Human Resources Policies and Procedures.
• Supervises and coordinates activities of departmental personnel engaged in operation/maintenance of refrigeration, power, heat and cooling systems.
• Supervises installation and repair of new and/or complex equipment.
• Maintains records which give a repair history for all equipment.
• Prepares required departmental budgets. Routinely monitors and controls over time.
• Completes employee monthly evaluations in a timely manner.
