Job summary

It is the foundation of The Memorial Experience.Summary:This role is responsible for the physical plant of a 301-licensed-bed acute care hospital (approximately 190,000 square feet), as well as Memorial Healthcare System’s Douglas Road Freestanding Emergency Room, Red Road Freestanding Emergency Room, IT/Data Center, and Warehouse, which are situated three miles from the hospital (total square footage of all buildings: 312,000 square feet). The Director also serves as the Hospital Safety Officer and is a key leader in coordinating regulatory compliance matters as they pertain to the hospital’s Environment of Care.Responsibilities:Plans and monitors staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions and continuing education initiatives.Develops and implements departmental goals, plans and standards consistent with the administrative, legal and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization.Ensures that facilities are continuously in compliance with all regulatory bodies making corrective actions where appropriate.Manages and evaluates departmental operations, including, service level determination and complaint management, to achieve performance and quality control objectives.Prepares and evaluates departmental budgets, and ensures that the department operates in compliance with allocated funding.
