Job summary

Emerson College seeks a Director of Internships and Work-Based Education to lead a cohesive ecosystem of experiential learning for credit-bearing and non-credit programs. You will drive strategy, governance, and policy across academic and administrative units to expand access and quality of internships and embedded learning.

The role requires building partnerships with faculty, industry, and leadership, while ensuring compliance, equity, and student success across programs.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree required.
• 7-10 years of experience in experiential learning, internships, and higher education leadership.
• Expertise in internship/work-based learning strategy, program design, policy development, and compliance.
• Proven ability to partner with faculty and senior institutional stakeholders.
• Experience leading cross-functional initiatives, governance structures, and institution-wide change.

Responsibilities

• Provide institution-wide strategic leadership for internships and work-based education.
• Develop and continuously improve an institutional framework for internships and work-based learning.
• Align strategy with student success, access, and post-graduate outcomes.
• Partner with Industry Relations to align employer pipelines with priorities.
• Lead policy guidance on academic credit, learning outcomes, and labor compliance.
