Job summary

People Inc. seeks a Director of Executive Compensation to lead the equity and executive compensation programs, administering global awards and optimizing governance processes. This hands-on leader will design and communicate competitive reward strategies while partnering with Finance, Legal, and HR.

Based at the New York City headquarters, the role is hybrid in-office with up to two remote days per week, reporting to the VP of Total Rewards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Finance, or Business; CCP certification is a plus.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in compensation in a publicly traded, mid-to-large company with hands-on equity administration including stock options, RSUs, and performance-based stock awards.
• Strong knowledge of equity governance, reporting, and compliance requirements across multiple jurisdictions.

Responsibilities

• Manage full lifecycle of global equity awards: grant setup, vesting, releases, cancellations, terminations/retirement, and quarterly dividends across multiple jurisdictions and equity structures.
• Maintain and optimize the employee equity database with data integrity and reporting.
• Act as a stock plan expert to executives and board members with clear, timely guidance.
• Coordinate with Payroll and Finance on equity vests and reporting; advise HRBPs and subsidiaries.
• Track equity metrics (burn rate, dilution, overhang) and prepare budgeting projections.
• Resolve complex stock plan participant issues with sound judgment.
• Educate employees on equity plans; prepare communications and educational materials.
• Own SLAs with external stock plan administrators (e.g., Morgan Stanley) for platform optimization.
• Advise on equity/compensation implications of restructurings, subsidiaries, and M&A.
• Oversee equity plan compliance with insider trading policies and blackout periods.
