Job summary

Furman University seeks a Director of Systems and Network Operations to oversee ITS network and data-center operations. You will drive design standards, performance, and security, guiding both technical staff and processes across networks, compute, and telecom.

Qualifications include a Master’s degree and 5+ years in higher education IT with leadership experience, strong communication, and cloud deployment expertise. This role reports to the CIO and partners with campus stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Significant experience in higher education IT operations and systems management.
• Proven leadership of technical professional teams and staff development.

Responsibilities

• Direct overall direction, management and reliability of WAN/LAN/WLAN networks and circuits.
• Oversee compute systems, virtual and physical servers, storage, firmware and software.
• Lead telecommunications, cable TV and surveillance systems with strategic budgeting.
• Manage ITS Systems and Network staff including hiring, training and evaluations.
• Plan financials, forecasting, engineering, operations and maintenance for networks, systems and telecom.
