Job summary

LinkedIn in Mountain View, CA seeks a seasoned Director of Software Engineering for Enterprise Infrastructure. You will own strategy, execution, and outcomes for network, compute, storage, and Azure portfolios, delivering reliable, secure and cost‑efficient foundations for internal platforms.

You will lead cross‑functional teams, drive AI transformation, and partner with InfoSec to ensure strong security and governance across global sites and services.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of infrastructure/software engineering experience with 8+ years in people management.
• Experience with global network, compute, storage, and Azure portfolios in enterprise environments.
• Demonstrated outcomes in Infra reliability, security/compliance, and cost optimization.
• Strong expertise in network architecture, ZTNA, firewall telemetry, and logging pipelines.
• Hands-on leadership across Azure governance, platform observability, and FinOps.
• Experience in CI/CD, IaC, and enterprise developer platforms for internal apps.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive a multi-year technical infrastructure vision across network, compute, storage and Azure.
• Own service reliability for global network, routing, firewall telemetry, and identity pathways.
• Lead AI transformation and automation for Infra, developer velocity, and operations.
• Partner with InfoSec to harden posture and ensure high compliance across global interfaces.
• Lead Azure governance for tenants/subscriptions; scale dashboards, cost guardrails and remediation workflows.
• Drive Zero Trust initiatives to modernize remote/enterprise access and policy refactoring.
• Oversee Infra migrations with predictable delivery and minimal user impact.
• Provide direction for internal CI/CD platforms to improve developer velocity and rigor.
• Grow leadership bench and foster clarity, accountability, and bias for action.
