Metropolis in Seattle seeks a Director, Engineering Operations & Strategy to own technology strategy, operational leadership, and strategic problem-solving across the engineering org. You will partner with senior leadership to execute due diligence, streamline processes, and steer high-stakes decisions.

This role manages a multi-million dollar budget, oversees vendor relations (AWS, Twilio), and builds scalable processes.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in high-intensity environments.
• Experience leading a strategic function with autonomy.
• Budget or resource decision experience in a high-growth org.
• Ability to translate goals into executable plans.

Responsibilities

• Own engineering processes: hiring, onboarding, training.
• Manage a $50M–$100M+ P&L budget and coordinate resources.
• Oversee hardware/service forecasting with vendors like AWS/Twilio.
• Lead M&A due diligence and vendor migrations with executives.
• Foster cross-functional alignment and rapid decision-making.
