Job summary

Viatris, based in Vermont, seeks a Director of Engineering and Controls to lead advanced manufacturing projects from conception through completion. You will direct engineering personnel, contractors and new equipment initiatives across extrusion, slitting, printing, inspection, coating, and packaging to improve reliability, safety, and efficiency.

The role requires a BS degree with 10 years of experience (15+ preferred); you will manage budgets, schedules, bids, and regulatory compliance (cGMPs)

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree (or equivalent) required.
• 15+ years of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct engineering projects from conception to completion, tracking costs and schedule.
• Develop budgets, specifications, drawings, schedules, performance standards and SOPs; measure progress.
• Obtain competitive bids, analyze results and make recommendations.
• Ensure projects comply with Federal, State and Local regulations, cGMPs and company standards.
• Identify and implement changes to production equipment across extrusion, slitting, label/printing, inspection, coating, packaging to improve reliability, safety, and efficiency.
• Coordinate change requests, inspect conformance to specs, and maintain proper documentation and as-builts.
• Communicate project status to management and stakeholders; manage issues/risks and escalate as needed.
• Direct engineering personnel, contractors and consultants; mentor other engineers and operations staff.

Manages project issues/risks in a timely manner and appropriately escalating when necessary.* Responsible for measuring and delivering project outcomes successfully. Implements and/or adapts processes and metrics to ensure project goals and objectives are achieved. Sets performance objectives and incorporates feedback from team and organization for continuous improvement.* Direct Engineering personnel, contractors and consultants as required to complete work, assisting in solving problems and acting as a resource and mentor to other engineers and operations personnel.The minimum qualifications for this role are: * Minimum of a Bachelor of Science Degree (or equivalent) and 10 years of experience required.* 15+ years of experience preferred. However, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
