Job summary

The Gunter Hotel San Antonio is seeking a Director of Engineering to oversee the property’s facilities maintenance, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all equipment and systems. You will lead the maintenance team and partner with leadership to uphold the hotel's high standards.

Ideal candidates bring extensive engineering and maintenance experience in hospitality, with proven management skills and a focus on safety, budget management, and compliance with regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of experience in a related field, including prior management experience.
• Experience in a hotel or related field is required, with a trade license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise the Maintenance staff, overseeing the maintenance of buildings and grounds.
• Apply extensive experience in engineering, maintenance and related fields to ensure efficient operations.
• Evaluate and select among alternative actions quickly and accurately, handling problems effectively in high-pressure situations.
• Convey information clearly and listen to and understand issues raised by co-workers and guests.
• Work with and understand financial information and data, including basic arithmetic functions to support maintenance operations.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures for maintenance requests, schedule maintenance and ensure compliance with regulations.
