Job summary

Generac is seeking a Director of Engineering for Internal Combustion Engine Technology to lead a high-performing team focused on advanced engine research, simulation, and product readiness. The role shapes technical strategy across hardware, controls, benchmarking, and cost optimization to deliver customer value.

Leading 1-D/3-D simulation, CFD, FEA, and predictive analytics, you will translate insights into roadmaps, ensure robust testing, and guide global product releases and development

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and 15+ years of progressive engineering experience related to internal combustion engines.
• 7+ years of management experience.
• Master’s or PhD in related field preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Designs and directs the work of the functional area and coaches the team to align with company strategy.
• Manages talent through performance management and development.
• Establishes the vision and strategy to drive world-class excellence within the engines engineering team, including advanced analysis and data-driven capabilities.
