Job summary

Tufts Career Center seeks an Assistant Director of Employer Relations to lead a comprehensive external partner engagement strategy. You will build relationships with employers and alumni to broaden access to internships, co-ops, full-time roles, and industry insights for Tufts students and alumni.

The role oversees 3 industry sectors, engages in on/off-site events, and collaborates with marketing to present Tufts to employers.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree required.
2-3 years of related professional experience in career services, advising, recruiting or HR.
Strong relationship building, program management, event planning, problem-solving and communication skills.
Proven presentation skills and ability to work in a complex university setting with employers, students, alumni, faculty and parents.
Knowledge of national trends in career services, job market, and diverse student populations.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, customer focus, attention to detail, and ability to handle interruptions.
Willingness to travel and work evenings/weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

Develop and manage a strategy for employer and alumni engagement.
Daily relationship building with contacts from corporations, nonprofits, NGOs, and government agencies.
Collaborate with Alumni Engagement and University Advancement to deepen alumni relationships.
Identify employer partners in industry sectors and engage them in recruitment initiatives and events.
Articulate value of Tufts education to employers and market Tufts to potential partners.
Supervise a student employee and coordinate with a team of career center staff.
