Job summary

You will execute transactions to optimize client risk and revenue targets, serve as lead client contact, and maintain advanced pricing models while building relationships across Latin America to strengthen HSBC's market position.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
  • 8 years of progressive post-baccalaureate work experience in finance.
  • Experience pricing and valuing interest rate derivatives.
  • Experience trading interest rate derivatives across various venues.
  • Experience managing financial exposures in IR derivatives portfolios.
  • Experience operating electronic trading platforms such as MarketAxess, Tradeweb, and Bloomberg.
  • Experience auto-quoting and auto-hedging; delivering client solutions in IR derivatives.
  • Ability to analyze drivers impacting IR derivatives markets (monetary policy, fiscal policy, treasury debt management).

Director - Emerging Markets Trader, HSBC Bank USA N.A., New York, NY

Manage a portfolio of interest rate derivatives in Latin American currencies, ensuring accurate pricing and effective hedging strategies. Execute interest rate derivative transactions for clients to optimize risk management and deliver revenue targets. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing analysis and insights on Latin American currency markets. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and governance standards specific to Latin American markets. Maintain and enhance quantitative pricing models and valuation tools for interest rate derivatives in Latin American markets. Build and sustain relationships with market participants across Latin America to support competitive positioning.

Full time employment, Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week. Pay Range: $298,854.00 to $308,854.00 per year.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field and 8 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate work experience.
  • Must have 8 years of experience in:
    • Pricing and valuing interest rate derivatives;
    • Trading interest rate derivatives across clearing houses, futures exchanges, and bilateral venues; and
    • Managing financial exposures in portfolios of interest rate derivatives.
  • Must have 5 years of experience in:
    • Operating electronic trading platforms such as MarketAxess, Tradeweb, and Bloomberg;
    • Managing electronic price delivery processes, including auto-quoting and auto-hedging;
    • Delivering client specific solutions across interest rate derivatives products, such as interest rate swaps, cross-currency swaps, basis swaps, interest rate futures, fixed income securities, total return swaps, security forwards, or structured notes; and
    • Providing analysis of key drivers impacting interest rate derivatives markets, such as monetary policy, fiscal policy, and treasury debt management.

International travel required up to 5%; Domestic travel required up to 5% [Sporadic travel to visit HSBC’s clients in the USA, Europe and Latin America]
