Portland Public Schools seeks a Director of Elementary ESOL Programming to lead ELD, ensure compliance with Lau Plan, and advance multilingual education districtwide. You will guide curriculum, professional development, and staff collaboration across schools.

The role requires a Master's in Education, extensive ESOL leadership experience, and Maine certifications. Expect district-wide collaboration, data-driven improvements, and ongoing PD for ESOL staff.

Qualifications

• Proven ESOL programming leadership and positive student results.
• Master's Degree in Education required; five+ years teaching experience.
• Five+ years of administrative experience at school, district, or organizational level.
• Maine ESOL PK-12 certification preferred; fingerprinting requirement.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic vision for ELD programming in line with Lau Plan.
• Oversee language development curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
• Collaborate with Special Education to serve Multilingual Learners.
• Coordinate community engagement and Lau Plan advisory activities.
• Represent the district in MLS/ML Advisory Council meetings as needed.
• Maintain documentation in ELLevation and Vector for PD.
