Job summary

EMCOR Group, Inc. is seeking a Director, EHS to provide safety leadership and oversight across multiple EMCOR companies in the mid-Atlantic.

You will partner with Safety, Quality & Productivity teams to improve safety planning, processes and performance while ensuring compliance with policies and regulations. You will guide local safety personnel, analyze action plans, review incident management, and coordinate investigations of serious injuries.

Qualifications

• B.A. / B.S. or equivalent trade experience required.
• BCSP or CSP/CHST/CESCP certifications or ability to obtain are a plus.
• 10 years minimum leadership experience addressing risk in a hazardous industry.
• Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal environmental health and safety regulations.
• Strong interpersonal, management, communication, writing and organizational skills.
• Ability to use safety related enterprise software with data analysis.
• Ability to operate independently with little day-to-day supervision and plan extensive travel (60-80%).
• Experience with MS 365 applications.

Responsibilities

• Support the development, planning, and implementation of safety policies for 5-10 companies with 3,000 to 6,000 employees.
• Monitor assigned companies to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Provide support to ensure safety documentation and required recordkeeping is maintained.
• Assist Safety leadership with analysis, development, and implementation of action plans.
• Review incident management processes, data and related actions for effectiveness.
• Monitor hazards and recommend incident prevention to leadership.
• Assist investigations of serious injuries or incidents.
• Monitor and assist with implementation of EMCOR safety initiatives.
• Review incident reports for completeness and effectiveness and guide leadership to corrective actions.
