Job summary

NBCUniversal is seeking a senior EHS leader to develop and manage the enterprise-wide Environmental Health and Safety program. This role drives regulatory compliance, audits, investigations, and training across the studio operations.

You will partner with Legal, Facilities and Production Services to embed EHS into daily practices, oversee incident investigations and corrective actions, and lead efforts to meet evolving safety standards. On-site role with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) field.
  • 5+ years leading and managing EHS programs and projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree in EHS, engineering, chemistry or biology, or related field.
  • Strong influencing leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Proficient with enterprise software and able to travel up to 20%.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement an effective EHS program with policies, procedures, and training to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Institute and ensure the team meets inspection and audit expectations.
  • Oversee Injury and Illness Prevention Program including investigations and corrective actions.
  • Develop and track EHS training for relevant populations.
  • Interact with agencies like Cal/OSHA, Fire Department, AQMD, CUPA and local agencies to ensure compliance.
  • Collaborate with Legal, Studio Design & Construction, Production Services and Facilities to integrate EHS into operations.
  • Develop strategies for compliance with new EHS regulations; report weekly and monthly metrics to management and Corporate EHS.
  • Develop and manage EHS metrics; establish departmental short and long-term goals.
  • Manage consultants and contractors for specific projects; oversee Contractor Safety Management Program.
  • Coordinate Corporate EHS audits and corrective actions implementation.
  • Understand project and department accounting expectations; ensure Gensuite is used for documentation.

Job description

Job Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement an effective EHS program that includes policies, procedures, and training to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations
  • Institute and ensure the team meets the inspection schedule and compliance audit expectations
  • Oversee the Injury and Illness Prevention Program including investigations into incidents, near misses, and accidents and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence
  • Develop and track EHS training to relevant populations
  • Manage interactions with outside agencies, such as Cal/OSHA, Fire Department, AQMD, CUPA, and local agencies, to obtain favorable investigation results and ensure compliance with regulations
  • Cooperate with other management teams, such as Legal, Studio Design & Construction, Production Services and Facilities, to ensure that EHS considerations are integrated into all aspects of the Studio's operations
  • Develop strategies for compliance with new EHS regulations
  • Compile and present weekly and monthly metrics to management and Corporate EHS
  • Develop and manage EHS metrics
  • Establish and maintain the EHS departmental short and long-term goals
  • Manage consultants and contractors for specific projects and oversee the Contractor Safety Management Program
  • Manage Corporate EHS business audits and coordinate the implementation of corrective actions
  • Understand project and department accounting expectations
  • Ensure Gensuite, the EHS information management system, is used to document company compliance with regulatory requirements and ensure that all tasks, inspections, incidents, near misses, action items, etc. are properly tracked/documented and closed
Basic Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in the Environmental Health and Safety field
  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience leading and managing EHS programs and projects
  • Completed bachelor's degree in EHS, engineering, chemistry or biology or another related field
  • Comfortable working in an environment where your direction will only occur through the powers of influence
  • Must have ability to manage multiple priorities and drive implementation of key EHS initiatives
  • Computer savvy and must be comfortable working with enterprise software
  • Must be willing to travel up to 20% of the time
  • Excellent professional verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Requirements
  • Has worked in a professional environment
  • A master's degree in EHS, engineering, science or another related field
  • Certified Safety Professional or Certified Industrial Hygienist
  • Experience with Gensuite
  • 1-4 years of experience in media, entertainment or film
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift/carry items weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to stand/walk a minimum of four (4) hours per day
  • Ability to work with a computer for extended periods
  • Ability to work in soundstage perms and at heights
  • Respond to Safety Hotline and respond to emergencies during work and off hours
Additional Information
  • Required On-Site : This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite.

  • Salary: $150,000 - $180,000 (bonus & LTI eligible)
