Job summary

Goddard Lake Houston in Humble, Texas seeks a Director of Early Childhood Development to lead operations for private childcare, preschool, and after-school programs. The role partners with the Owner to ensure policy adherence and a nurturing environment for children from six weeks upward.

The Director will supervise staff, manage budgets, oversee curriculum (Wonder of Learning), and maintain QA standards while ensuring families feel valued and supported.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
• Must hold or be eligible for State of Texas Director certification.
• Strong leadership and people-management abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of compliance for Texas, Cognia, and the Goddard Brand.
• Manage subsidy programs (NCI, CACFP, Childcare Aware, etc.).
• Recruit, hire, onboard, train, and evaluate staff; conduct regular reviews.
• Oversee curriculum and ordering of Wonder of Learning materials.
• Maintain classroom ratios, operate within budget, and QA standards.
• Monitor faculty files and payroll; manage budgets and transitions.
• Stay informed on early childhood development research and participate in professional organizations.
• Perform day-to-day operations across private childcare, preschool, and camps.
