Job Summary

Chartwells at Shelby Eastern Schools located in Shelbyville, IN, is seeking a dynamic Director of Dining Services to lead our food service team across 3 schools, serving 1200 students. If you have a passion for creating appealing menus and driving innovative initiatives with a client-focused approach, this is your opportunity to excel!

In this role, you'll be at the forefront of growth and innovation, supported by a team of 13 frontline associates. Your responsibilities include ensuring compliance with NSLP guidelines, fostering a positive culture, and enhancing the dining experience.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead, mentor, and inspire our team of up to 13 associates.
2. Drive strategic initiatives to improve customer satisfaction and profitability.
3. Recruit, train, and develop talent within the organization.
4. Manage the annual budget and control costs.
5. Ensure adherence to quality, safety, and sanitation standards.
6. Build strong relationships with clients, customers, and staff.
7. Perform other duties as assigned to support efficient operations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate's degree in Food Services/Management/Hospitality/Culinary/Nutrition or equivalent experience.
• Over three years of foodservice management experience, preferably in K12 settings.
• Knowledge of high-volume food production.
• Experience with P&L accountability or contract-managed services.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Proficiency in computer skills.
