Job Summary

Chartwells at Shelby Eastern Schools located in Shelbyville, IN, is seeking a dynamic Director of Dining Services to lead our food service team across 3 schools, serving 1200 students. If you excel at creating appealing menus and driving initiatives with a client-focused, detail-oriented approach, this is your opportunity to shine!

In this role, you'll drive change and innovation, aiming to grow our dining program. You will work with a team of 13 frontline associates, fostering an inspiring culture while ensuring compliance with NSLP guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead, mentor, and inspire our team of up to 13 associates.
  2. Drive strategic initiatives to enhance customer satisfaction and profitability.
  3. Recruit, train, and develop top talent.
  4. Oversee the annual budget and control costs.
  5. Ensure adherence to quality, safety, and sanitation standards.
  6. Build strong relationships with clients, customers, and staff.
  7. Perform other duties to support efficient dining operations.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Minimum of an Associate's degree in Food Services/Management/Hospitality/Culinary/Nutrition or equivalent experience.
  • Three+ years of foodservice management experience, preferably in K12.
  • Knowledge of high-volume food production preferred.
  • Experience with P&L accountability or contract-managed services.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in computer skills.
