Job summary

Case Western Reserve University seeks a forward-thinking and collaborative Director for the Freedman Center for Digital Scholarship to provide leadership for programs, services, and spaces within the Digital Scholarship department.

The Director will oversee scholarly communication, text and data analysis, GIS, research data management, and AI services, shaping priorities and assessment to enable evidence-based decisions in partnership with the Kelvin Smith Library and university leadership.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Library/Information Science or related discipline; Librarian 3 requires 6 years of relevant library experience.
• Librarian 4 requires a Master’s degree and 10 years of relevant library experience; Directors must have leadership, management, and mentoring experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for the Freedman Center for Digital Scholarship and the Digital Scholarship department, establishing priorities for programs, services, and spaces.
• Collaborate with all library areas and participate in the KSL Leadership Team to support university-wide planning and decision making.
