Job summary

Case Western Reserve University seeks a forward-thinking and collaborative Director of the Freedman Center for Digital Scholarship to lead programs, services, and spaces in the Digital Scholarship department. The role focuses on scholarly communication, GIS, data management, and AI services, reporting to the Associate University Librarian for Creation and Curation Services.

The position governs strategies, fosters collaboration, and contributes to evidence-based planning as a member of the KSL

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Library/Information Science or related field.
• 6 years of relevant library experience for Librarian 3.
• 10 years of relevant library experience for Librarian 4.
• Directors must have leadership, management, and mentoring experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction for the Freedman Center for Digital Scholarship.
• Set priorities for programs, services, and spaces within the Digital Scholarship department.
• Collaborate across library areas and participate in library-wide planning as part of the leadership team.
• Oversee scholarly communication, open scholarship, GIS, data management, and AI services.

Education

Master's degree in Library/Information Science
