Job summary

Case Western Reserve University is seeking a Director of the Freedman Center for Digital Scholarship to lead programs, services, and spaces within the Digital Scholarship department. The role covers scholarly communication, open scholarship, GIS, data management, and AI services, with an emphasis on evidence-based planning.

The Director will collaborate across the library and university, mentor staff, and contribute to library-wide strategic planning as part of the Kelvin Smith Library

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Library/Information Science or related discipline; six years of library leadership experience.
• Experience directing technology-enabled spaces, staff development, and budgeting.
• Strong evidence-based decision making and strategic planning abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership to the Digital Scholarship department, directing programs, services, and spaces.
• Oversees scholarly communication, data management, GIS, AI services, and related initiatives.
• Mentors staff, conducts performance reviews, and supports professional development.
• Partners with university and external groups to advance digital scholarship.
• Drives assessment and planning aligned with library strategy.
