Job summary

CarMax is seeking a Technology Director to lead the IT Application Systems strategy and execution, overseeing development, implementation and maintenance of a broad suite of application systems.

You will partner with Accounting, HR, Legal and other functions to deliver technology solutions that improve profitability, efficiency and customer experience, while guiding architecture and team delivery from Plano.

Qualifications

• BA/BS Degree required; Master’s Degree a plus.
• 10+ years of Information Technology with 7+ years of application systems development and implementa­tion.
• 5+ years’ experience managing direct reports.
• Proven experience in leading technology projects and teams.
• Strong understanding of interaction design and product personas.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to manage stakeholder expectations and deliver on experience outcomes.
• Experience in developing and implementing technology strategies.
• Emerging technology and modern design skills are a plus.
