Job summary

Merck seeks a Director to set and drive the governance and enablement strategy for Digital Human Health across social, web, mobile, market research, and data products. You will lead a multidisciplinary team and translate policies into practical playbooks, partnering with Legal, Compliance, IT RMS, and Global Privacy Office to ensure privacy by design and regulatory defensibility.

The role requires deep data analytics, privacy, pharmacovigilance familiarity, and a learning mindset to leverage AI

Qualifications

• Extensive experience turning governance and privacy policy into operational playbooks.
• Ability to socialize governance with Legal, IT RMS, GC, Medical, and product teams.
• Proven track record in risk management, escalation and governance training.
• Deep knowledge of GDPR, HIPAA, CCPA, EMA, FDA, FCPA, anti-trust regulations.
• Experience with AI-enabled data governance and data products is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set strategy and operating model for DHH governance enablement.
• Lead a multidisciplinary team across social, web, mobile, market research, data governance.
• Embed privacy-by-design and data governance into SDLC and product workflows.
• Coordinate cross-functional reviews and escalation processes.
• Ensure regulatory defensibility and risk transparency.
