Job summary

SMBC Group in New York is seeking a Director, Product Owner to lead the strategy, governance, prioritization, and agile delivery of digital transaction banking within Treasury Services. You will own a capability domain across digital channels, payments, and security administration, shaping a roadmap and backlog to deliver secure, scalable digital experiences.

The role requires extensive fintech and banking product experience, collaboration across Technology, Risk, Compliance, Legal, Sales, and

Qualifications

10+ years of experience in product management or product ownership in banking or financial services.
Experience delivering digital channel capabilities such as client portals, APIs, host-to-host integrations, onboarding, servicing workflows, reporting, alerts, approvals, or self-service tools.
Strong understanding of agile delivery practices and backlog management.

Responsibilities

Own backlog health, sprint readiness, and release governance for digital banking capabilities.
Translate strategy into epics, features, and user stories with acceptance criteria.
Lead cross-functional teams including Technology, UX/UI, Risk, Compliance, and Legal.
Define and monitor KPIs for client adoption, digital engagement, and risk reduction.
Drive continuous improvement and align roadmap with client value.
