The Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District is seeking a qualified individual as a Director, Digital Accessibility. The Incumbent will develop, plan, implement, and oversee the District's digital accessibility program to ensure equitable access to electronic information and services. Provide leadership, coordination, and technical guidance to ensure compliance with federal and state accessibility laws and regulations, promote inclusive design practices, and advance institution-wide digital accessibility awareness and capacity. Salary: Range M-8

$9,496 - $11,109 Monthly

$113,952 - $133,311 Annually

Initial Salary Placement: New employees start at Step A ($9,496 per month), B ($9,876 per month) or C ($10,271 per month) on the salary schedule.

A bargaining unit member, new to the District, shall be placed on the step of the appropriate salary range according to the following:

  1. Step placement is based on full-time years of relevant experience in a like or equivalent position over minimum qualifications.
  2. 0-2 years equals placement at Step A; 2-4 years equals placement at Step B; 4 or more years equals placement at Step C.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Any combination equivalent to:

A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in accessibility studies, instructional technology, computer science, education, information systems, or a related field;

AND,

Five (5) years of increasingly responsible experience related to digital accessibility, instructional technology, web accessibility, or disability access services, including two (2) years of lead or supervisory experience related to the duties of the position.

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
VETERAN'S POINTS
  • Veterans not previously employed by the District, with 30 days or more of military service who become eligible for appointment by attaining the passing mark established for the examination, shall be allowed an additional credit of five (5) points and disabled veterans shall be allowed an additional credit of ten (10) points, which shall be added to the percentages attained in the examinations by the veterans.
  • Any applicant who claims veteran's credit must submit Form DD 214 at the time the employment application is submitted. Failure to submit Form DD 214 at the time of application shall result in no veteran's credits being considered or added to any passing score.
ASSESSMENT PROCESS
  • The assessment process for this position may include any combination of the following:
  • An application screening for initial qualifications
  • Supplemental training and experience screening, documentation(s)/ certification(s) screening
  • Oral assessment (Oral assessments are conducted over Zoom. If you lack reliable computer or internet connectivity, accommodations will be provided in the Personnel Commission office for your participation.)
  • The District reserves the right to utilize a flexible pass point (cut-off) on any test part to meet the staffing needs as determined by the District.
  • If you participate in and fail any assessment segment, you must wait a period of 90 days (approximately 3 months) to apply/test again for the same classification during a posted recruitment.
