Ladders in New York, NY seeks a Director, DevOps & Cloud Engineering to lead a distributed team delivering secure, reliable and scalable technology solutions. You will shape engineering practices, strengthen CI/CD automation, and drive platform engineering in a regulated healthcare environment.

Reporting to engineering leadership, you will advance release management, SRE practices, and compliance, while enhancing developer experience and operational performance across the software delivery

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software engineering, QA, DevOps, or platform engineering, with 3-5 years in a leadership role.
• Experience leading QA and DevOps functions with a focus on high-performing teams.
• Expertise in CI/CD pipeline design and developer experience tooling.
• Strong background in test strategy and automation across multiple testing frameworks.
• Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS, and IaC tools.
• Experience in regulated environments such as HIPAA, SOC 2, or FDA, with knowledge of compliance requirements.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with senior leadership.

• Define quality engineering strategies, including automation frameworks and quality metrics
• Own the roadmap for DevOps and platform engineering, driving CI/CD and deployment automation

• Implement SRE practices, including incident response and reliability metrics
• Set clear quality gates throughout the SDLC to minimize defects and enhance release confidence
• Ensure a security-first approach in infrastructure and release processes

Job description

For our client, we are seeking a Director, DevOps & Cloud Engineering to join the team of a leader in the Healthcare space.

This role will oversee DevOps, platform engineering, and quality engineering functions that support secure, reliable, and scalable technology delivery. You will guide a distributed team, strengthen release processes, and help shape engineering practices that improve developer experience and operational performance. The position partners closely with engineering leadership to advance CI/CD automation, infrastructure practices, and compliance in a regulated healthcare environment. This is a high-impact leadership opportunity to elevate quality, resilience, and speed across the software delivery lifecycle.

Location: New York, NY - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $250, 000+ annually
