Job description

The mission of the Tunnel to Towers Foundation is to honor the sacrifice of firefighter Stephen Siller who laid down his life to save others on September 11, 2001. We also honor our military and first responders who continue to make the supreme sacrifice of life and limb for our country. The Tunnel to Towers Foundation is committed to eradicating homelessness amongst our veterans.

The Tunnel to Towers Foundation seeks a highly enthusiastic, results-driven, cheerful, and charismatic professional fundraiser to join our dynamic and fast-paced Development department. The successful candidate will have demonstrated success in identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and closing gifts and a proven record of stewarding new and existing donors. Experience with one-on-one solicitations with donors is preferred, and a solid commitment to the mission is paramount.

Duties and responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of our extensive fundraising and foundation programs and emerging events and initiatives to ensure complete understanding and accurate representation when communicating to funders.
  • Facilitate all phases of donor outreach, retention, and correspondence in the set regional territory of the United States, focusing on major gift level donors.
  • Handling inquiries at the six-figure level and beyond.
  • Lead a small team of fundraisers, helping them with their daily routine, and provide coaching and guidance on their fundraising efforts.
  • Assist the Associate Vice President, Development with tracking of all naming recognition opportunities elated to Veterans Villages.
  • Meticulously document all correspondence and stewardship efforts in CRM, including basic research done through donor research platforms like Wealth Engine.
  • Secure introductory meetings with donors and prospects to secure and retain mid-level donations.
  • Work in collaboration across the development department and the Foundation as a whole.
  • Energetically and enthusiastically, represent the Foundation at fundraising events as needed
Qualifications
  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of experience in fundraising or related fields.
  • Highly organized, able to work independently and manage tasks from start to completion, meeting deadlines.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, high accuracy with all tasks, and pride in a job well done.
  • Excellent written and oral communication, as well as interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable using video conferencing, phone calls, and text messaging to move relationships forward.
  • Ability to track and manage multiple projects at one time.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, G-Suite, and online gift portals.
  • Quick learner, team player, and ready to take on any challenge.
  • Willingness to travel regularly.
  • Pre-employment screening, including a background check, is required.
