Job summary

QTS Realty Trust in Irving, TX seeks a Director of Development to lead customer deployment projects for data center builds. You will coordinate with the Property Development team, Sales, Operations and customers to align objectives, schedules and budgets across multiple large-scale deployments.

You will manage deadlines, risk, safety and compliance, travel up to 50%, and mentor project teams while reporting to the Property Development department, with exposure to CHO and CRO depending on project

Responsibilities

• Manage customer deployment project delivery for each sold deal at each QTS location.
• Coordinate with Property Development, consulting partners, and customers to support design, pricing, approvals, and deployment.
• Align clients’ objectives, business processes, and vendor strategies across the organization to deliver on time and on budget.
• Drive effective client relationship management and strong cost management for project delivery.
• Serve as single point of contact for Federal sales support on potential deals.

Director, Development

The Director, Development requires strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills, ability to self-direct, strong background in data center design, engineering, controls, and operational requirements, with an emphasis on project/construction management. In this role, you will function as QTS' point of contact for new client builds and implementations and liaise between the QTS Sales Team (Account Exec and Sales Engineer), the QTS Operations Team, the QTS Property Development Team, and the Customer. The PSCM will work closely with existing Development Construction Project Managers to ensure the customers' needs are carried out to high levels of expectation. The position will report into the QTS Property Development department and work closely with the CHO and CRO, depending on the origin of the project.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage the customer deployment project delivery for each sold deal within each QTS location.
• Coordinate with the QTS Property Development team, and supporting specialty consultants, to support customer's design needs, pricing, customer approvals, & implementation of specific deployment scopes.
• Manage the delivery of these projects, this position aligns clients' objectives, business processes, vendor management strategies, and cross-group collaboration efforts across the QTS organization.
• Drive effective client relationship management and efficient cost management, with the ultimate goal of delivering the project on time and on budget.
• Serve as a single contact for Federal sales support on potential secured deals.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's Degree and/or professional licenses in Construction Management or Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or Architecture.
• Ten or more years of progressive responsibility in development of Mission Critical Facilities.
• Five or more years of responsibility of data center project construction with large-scale data centers or DC lease providers.
• Be able to travel up to 50% of the time.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience managing multiple large, multi-faceted projects.
• Experience with Construction Health & Safety Knowledge.
• Experience with Customer Deployment Technologies and Equipment, RCDD a plus.
