Job summary

Symetra Investment Management is seeking a Director, Sr. Derivatives Analyst & Trader to lead execution, analytics and reporting for a diverse derivatives portfolio.

The role combines hands‑on trading, quantitative analysis and tool development to support hedging and risk management within the front office. Hybrid work in Farmington, CT, with substantial compensation and bonus potential.

Qualifications

• 8+ years hands-on derivatives trading and analysis experience in insurance or asset management.
• Strong coding skills in Python, SQL and VBA for trading/risk tools, pricing models and automation.
• Excellent multi-tasking, organization and independent work ethic under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Execute derivative trades across equity, rates, credit, commodity and FX in line with approved programs.
• Analyze derivative assets and insurance liabilities; develop pricing models and risk analyses; build trading tools.
• Produce regular and ad-hoc reporting; leverage PowerBI; support P/L attribution and scenario analysis.
