Job summary

Moog, Inc. is seeking a Director for Defense Division Contracts to lead and manage the contracts team across defense programs. You will shape strategy, negotiate critical government contracts, and ensure compliance with FAR/DFARS while aligning with Moog’s objectives.

Located in the Western New York region with hybrid onsite/remote options, you will report to the SVP of the Defense Division and travel as needed. A strong background in government contracting and security clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 15+ years of related experience; or equivalent education including CFCM certification. Master’s/PhD preferred.
• 12+ years in contract management in government contracting; 5+ years in mid to senior leadership.
• Extensive experience negotiating, drafting, and managing contracts under FAR/DFARS; competitive/non-competitive proposals.
• Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills; ability to develop junior contracts professionals.
• Travel internationally and domestically, with monthly visits to East Aurora if outside Buffalo area.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Defense Division Contracts team.
• Develop contract strategies across Defense programs.
• Advise on regulatory compliance and risk management for government contracts.
• Oversee negotiations, renewals, amendments, and dispute resolution.
• Support proposals with pricing strategies and risk analysis.
• Monitor contract financial performance and ensure timely obligations.
