Job summary

Adidas is seeking a senior leader to drive productivity planning across DCs and 3PL partners in a hybrid work model in the United States. You will own forecasting, staffing, and KPI performance to optimize service levels and costs while collaborating with senior leaders to align with enterprise goals.

The role requires seven years in distribution or operations leadership, fluent English, and a Four-year degree (MBA a plus).

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute node execution strategy with DC Ops and 3PL partners to meet SLA/COTIF targets and manage costs.
  • Own end-to-end volume planning and alignment with capacity constraints across channels.
  • Provide visibility into monthly forecasts, daily processing plans, capacity, and risks to SCM leadership.
  • Partner with site leadership to optimize throughput, labor utilization, and channel prioritization.
  • Design integrated labor planning and staffing models aligned to forecasted volumes.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across nodes to boost productivity and reduce costs.
  • Lead governance routines with KPI reviews, action planning, and accountability across DC operations.
  • Represent DC ops in senior forums, reporting monthly performance to SCM and finance.

Job description

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:
  • Lead an integrated Productivity Planning function and optimization efforts across owned and 3PL Distribution Center(s), ensuring planning, staffing, and productivity strategies are aligned to enterprise business objectives.
  • Define and execute end-to-end distribution strategies, translating priorities into tactical and operational plans that drive performance across key metrics including EP%, UPH and SLA/COTIF.
  • Own service delivery and performance outcomes for nodes, ensuring alignment across all channels and proactively adjusting operating strategies to meet evolving demand and business needs.
  • Act as the primary representative of DC operations at senior leadership and cross-functional forums, influencing decisions impacting service, cost, and customer experience.
  • Lead cross-functional alignment on demand forecasts, capacity planning, and workload prioritization, continuously balancing actual demand against forecasted volumes and staffing to optimize service delivery and maintain consistent execution across all channels and stakeholders.
  • Own and drive node level KPI performance, ensuring teams have clarity, accountability, and action plans to achieve targets.
  • Lead financial planning and budget across nodes, ensuring alignment to cost targets and productivity goals.
  • Oversee 3PL governance and performance management, ensuring contractual adherence, SLA delivery, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement with team by fostering innovation, leveraging data, technology, AI, and analytics, and advancing scalable solutions that optimize performance and operational effectiveness across DTC East and the broader DC network.
  • Serve as a key member of the site and network senior leadership team, driving engagement, talent development, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Define and execute, in partnership with DC Operations and 3PL partner, the node execution strategy, ensuring delivery of SLA/COTIF targets, cost efficiency, and quality metrics.
  • Own end-to-end volume planning and execution alignment, optimizing brand and channel allocations against DC capacity constraints; enforce accountability across stakeholders while proactively identifying and deploying flexibility levers.
  • Lead capacity planning and execution visibility, providing clear insights into monthly forecasts, daily processing plans, available capacity, and risks to senior SCM leadership.
  • Partner with site leadership to optimize throughput, labor utilization, and channel prioritization, factoring in demand variability, business mix, and operational complexity.
  • Design and implement integrated labor planning and staffing models, ensuring alignment between forecasted volumes and workforce plans to maximize productivity and capacity utilization.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across nodes, improving productivity, reducing cost, and enhancing operational performance.
  • Leverage network-wide benchmarking and best practices, to standardize and scale productivity improvements.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to identify and Implement Supply Chain solutions that improve service levels, profitability, and support business growth.
  • Own on-time processing and shipping performance, developing and sustaining plans to consistently meet or exceed operational KPIs.
  • Establish and lead operational governance routines, including structured KPI reviews, action planning, and performance tracking with clear accountability across DC operations.
  • Represent DC operations in senior stakeholder and channel performance forums, delivering actionable insights, identifying gaps, and aligning on corrective actions; report monthly performance to SCM leadership and finance.
  • Oversee end-to-end planning, performance management, and execution tracking for 3PL, ensuring alignment with contractual expectations and cost transparency.
  • Lead annual budgeting and forecast processes for distribution sites, ensuring alignment across operations, finance, and strategic priorities.
  • Build and develop a high-performing, multi-functional team, fostering capabilities in planning, analytics, and continuous improvement across a complex operational scope.
  • Provide strategic and operational support on ad-hoc initiatives, driving resolution of critical business challenges and enabling execution excellence.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • In-depth knowledge of end-to-end planning processes, preferably across Distribution, Manufacturing, Operations or Supply Chain Management

  • Execute a high degree of analytical and logical thinking related to all aspects of distribution planning operations.
  • Reporting, visualization and data modelling techniques preferred
  • Proven ability to achieve and exceed goals, objectives and critical deadlines with good planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to perform work and lead teams in a fast-paced setting, constantly adapting to a change-oriented environment
  • Strong understanding of querying and data analysis techniques
  • Strong team player with the ability to lead and work with diverse groups
  • Proven experience in Distribution Center or Manufacturing operations leadership.
Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:
  • Four-year college or university degree, MBA a plus
  • Minimum of seven years relevant work experience and/or training
  • Equivalent combination of education and/or experience is also acceptable
  • Fluent in English, both oral and written
