Phaxis supports a rapidly growing financial firm seeking a Data Stewardship leader with senior management experience in Capital Markets. The role requires strong knowledge of Sales & Trading and end-to-end trade lifecycle across Equities, Fixed Income, FX, Futures and Derivatives.

As the strategic lead and SME for the Markets Data Domain, you will shape vision and strategy for key platforms, drive governance, and ensure business objectives and stakeholder expectations are met across Front Office

Qualifications

• 7+ years in management (Director/ED) across capital markets.
• 3+ years in data quality and data management.
• Deep understanding of markets products and end-to-end trade lifecycle.
• Experience supporting Front Office and Operations.
• Knowledge of governance, metadata management, and regulatory reporting.

Job description

Our client, a rapidly growing financial firm is building out their EDO and currently looking for a Data Stewardship leader that has senior management experience within Capital Markets, with strong knowledge of Sales & Trading and the end-to-end trade lifecycle across Equities, Fixed Income, FX, Futures, and Derivatives. You will serve as the strategic lead and subject matter expert for the Markets Data Domain, covering Front Office and Operations functions across Fixed Income, Equities, Foreign Exchange, Futures and Listed Derivatives businesses. A key part of this role is to understand how Markets data is created and used across the organization so that you drive the Vision and strategy for key platforms supporting the domain and ensure business objectives and stakeholder expectations are met.

Responsibilities

• Translate enterprise and Markets business strategies into actionable data management plans for the Markets Data Domain.
• Lead new data initiatives by defining business cases, gathering requirements, and prioritizing projects across the domain.
• Establish and maintain processes aligned with Enterprise Data Policy and Standards for Markets data.
• Oversee access and provisioning of Markets data.
• Ensure that all Markets data is governed in accordance with enterprise policies and controls.
• Act as a change agent within the Domain.
• Establish ownership and governance across Front Office and Operations systems supporting Equities, Fixed Income, Futures and Listed Derivatives businesses.
• Support stakeholders in defining, validating, and maintaining business definitions for data elements.
• Accountable for data lineage and technical metadata for data elements within the domain.
• Oversee remediation of Data Quality issues through prioritizing issues to remediate; review and challenge remediation plans, particularly those impacting trade execution, booking accuracy, position management, settlement processing, valuation, market risk calculations, client reporting, and regulatory reporting.
• Establish controls and monitoring for critical trade lifecycle data including order, trade, position, instrument, counterparty, pricing, market data, and settlement data.
• Drive governance and stewardship activities across product areas including Equities, Fixed Income, Foreign Exchange, Futures and Listed Derivatives, ensuring consistent adoption of enterprise data standards and controls.

Skills

• 7+ years' experience in Management role (Director/ED)
• 3+ years' experience with Data Quality and Data Management
• Deep understanding of Markets products and end-to-end trade lifecycle processes across Equities, Fixed Income, Futures and Listed Derivatives businesses.
• Experience supporting both Front Office and Operations functions.
• Strong understanding of Markets data, including instrument, client, counterparty, pricing, market data, order, trade, position, inventory, risk, and settlement data.
• Fluency in data governance, data quality, and metadata management principles.
• Experience with regulatory requirements impacting Markets businesses, including trade reporting, market risk, valuation controls, and regulatory reporting.
• Experience with data design, data audit, data governance and Markets technology platforms a plus.
• Experience supporting Sales & Trading, Market Operations, Middle Office, Product Control, Market Risk, Securities Operations, Futures Operations, or related Capital Markets functions preferred.
