Position: Director, Data Solutions
Location: Remote
(Must reside in NY/NJ/CT)
Schedule: Monday - Friday 9am-5pm
Compensation: $153,978 - $173,225 annual salary
Summary
The Director, Data Solutions will lead a team of technical resources, have oversight of Data Governance, and provide subject matter expertise on designing a data infrastructure to meet the needs of VillageCareMAX currently and into the future. This position has direct reports that are responsible for analytics and reporting and will also work directly with the Data Architecture team to ensure dynamic solutions and design to support scalable analytics and the continued growth of the organization.
This role requires the individual to have an overall understanding of the healthcare business, specifically in the Medicare domain. This position requires understanding of key attributes that contribute to a Medicare plan's success. This position is responsible for ensuring the data reside in a format to ensure analytics can easily support financial, medical management, network, business development, quality, and compliance needs. This role lays the foundation of a new data strategy by collaborating with both technical and non-technical leadership to identify key drivers for their operational areas and turning those conversations into agile technical solutions.
Essential Job Functions
- Manages a team of technical resources who provide reports and analytics to the organization.
- Works directly with the Data Architecture team to lead the strategy for the design of the warehouse.
- Proactively identifies analytic business needs and leverages that information to inform decisions in the design and requirements of the data infrastructure.
- Responsible for completion and/or oversight of business requirements for the data architecture team for creation and validation of data objects before release.
- Oversight of production release schedule and final approval of new releases to production.
- Oversight of the Data Governance function to ensure new releases meet the defined requirements and ongoing monitoring of data processes to ensure consistent data quality.
- Builds strong relationships both internally and externally to support the execution, implementation, and success of our data and analytics strategy for all data end users in the organization.
- Provides oversight of the data and analytics strategy to ensure alignment to organizational goals and can demonstrate success.
- Works collaboratively with other departments to gather all relevant information that is needed to ensure their success.
- Works closely with all data warehouse end users to understand their departmental needs and provide progress and updates on the data strategy.
- Engages the team with thoughtful and creative solutions to complex problems.
- Mentors team to upskill in technical skills (SQL, Tableau, etc.) and Medicare business knowledge.

Qualifications
- This position requires a minimum formal education of a Bachelor's degree. Master's degree preferred.
- 5+ years working in a Managed Care Organization in analytics or data warehousing role.
- 10+ years working in data and analytics
- Familiarity with managing teams and successfully executing data-related projects
- Business understanding of health care industry within Managed
- Thorough understanding of the data domains within healthcare, how they are related and their impact to both revenue and costs.
- Proficient in SQL, AWS, Redshift, and Tableau
- Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills are required.
- Ability to communicate and bridge the gap between business needs, data infrastructure and analytics.
- Strong work ethic
- Willingness to question the validity and accuracy of data and to firmly lead analysis and steps required to ensure that data is 100 percent accurate .
- Ability to validate data from raw files through ingestion to the final stage and communicate findings to ensure accurate results.
