Job summary

DWYER INSTRUMENTS, LLC seeks a Director of Data Engineering to architect a lakehouse data platform and drive AI-ready infrastructure across operations—from shop floor to sales. You will bridge the plant floor and front office, unifying IIoT data with enterprise datasets for predictive analytics and GenAI applications.

You will lead a team of data engineers and ML engineers, guiding the transition to modern data tools while ensuring secure data governance and scalable data products for growth.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in data strategy, architecture, and engineering.
• 5+ years leading data analytics teams.
• Experience designing Lakehouse architectures (Databricks, Snowflake).
• Operationalizing AI/ML models in enterprise environments.
• Cloud data stacks proficiency with Azure (Synapse/Fabric, ADLS Gen2).
• Proficient in Python, Spark, SQL; IaC for data platforms.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute a Lakehouse-focused data infrastructure roadmap for real-time analytics and AI workloads.
• Establish data governance, cataloging, and lineage for secure AI models across the enterprise.
• Ingest and operationalize IIoT and supply chain data with OT and Engineering teams.
• Lead the modernization of the data stack to enable self-service analytics.
• Drive DataOps and MLOps to ensure data quality, security, and compliance.
• Partner with business leaders to identify data products that drive growth and cost savings.
• Build and mentor a high-performing data engineering/ML team with cloud and legacy systems experience.
