Job description

Job Summary

The Director, Data & Analytics for Supply Chain and Manufacturing, leads the data and analytics delivery lifecycle for the Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Procurement functions, providing strategic and operational leadership to technical and business teams. The role works directly with functional leaders to shape how data is sourced, modeled and productized against defined use cases, and carries the technical depth to set ingestion requirements and design products that support analytics and decisioning at scale.

Job Description
Major Responsibilities
Leadership and Strategic Planning
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between Data & Analytics and business leadership across Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Procurement, and represent the analytics portfolio in functional leadership forums.
  • Own a multi-year analytics roadmap and backlog aligned to enterprise and business unit objectives.
  • Lead demand intake, qualification and prioritization; sequence work against available capacity and communicate trade-offs to sponsors.
  • Define business cases, expected benefits and success measures for analytics investments, and report progress, adoption and value realization to senior leadership.
Technical Guidance and Data Product Ownership
  • Maintain functional and technical command of the team’s data products and negotiate the features and releases that keep each one current and adding value.
  • Advise architects and engineers on data modeling and integration approaches, and review designs for scalability, reusability, performance, supportability and total cost of ownership.
  • Champion reuse of certified data products over single-purpose solutions and eliminate duplication across functions.
Delivery, Governance and Adoption
  • Hold delivery teams accountable for committed scope, quality and dates, escalating risks early with a recommended course of action.
  • Ensure solutions ship with the documentation, runbooks and knowledge transfer required for support, and that production issues carry clear ownership and response paths.
  • Partner with Data Governance and Information Security on data quality, stewardship, access management and compliance for operational and supplier data.
  • Drive post-deployment adoption through training, communication and change management, including retirement of legacy and duplicative reporting.
People Management and Team Development
  • Lead recruiting, onboarding, retention, coaching and performance management, building technical and functional bench strength across onshore and offshore resources.
  • Allocate people and vendor capacity across competing initiatives to protect committed dates while minimizing disruption to operations.
  • Review and improve departmental policies, delivery standards and support methodologies.
  • Own budget planning and cost control for the area of responsibility, including labor, vendor and platform consumption costs.
Minimum Job Requirements
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Administration or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Work Experience
  • 10+ years in data engineering, business intelligence and analytics, including 4+ years leading data teams.
  • Experience owning a portfolio or roadmap for a defined business area, from demand intake through reported outcomes.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Working knowledge of modern data platform architecture, including warehouse and Lakehouse patterns, ETL and ELT design, dimensional modeling and semantic models, sufficient to challenge design decisions without performing the build.
  • Ability to read enterprise data in the context of business goals and operational processes.
  • Working knowledge of business intelligence and visualization platforms such as Power BI, including semantic model and workspace governance.
  • Strong communication skills to navigate between executive, functional and technical audiences.
  • Ability to prioritize competing demands, decide with incomplete information, and influence outcomes in a matrixed organization.
  • Budget preparation, analysis and cost management within defined financial objectives.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, supply chain, distribution or procurement functions in a large, multi-site organization.
  • Working knowledge of core operational systems and their data: ERP (SAP or equivalent), warehouse management (Manhattan or equivalent), transportation and route planning (TMS), and demand and inventory planning.
  • Familiarity with operational performance measures such as fill rate, on-time delivery, inventory turns, forecast accuracy and production yield.
  • Experience leading a data platform or reporting modernization, including migration off legacy tools.
  • Experience managing distributed teams and external delivery partners across time zones.
