Job summary

CarMax Auto Finance is seeking a Director of Credit Risk & Analytics to own the analytical engine behind the business. This builder-operator role leads a high-impact team, shapes originations strategy, and advances decisioning using new data and techniques.

The candidate will manage forecasting models, drive growth with risk-adjusted returns, and partner with CAF and CarMax senior leadership to influence strategic choices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, finance, economics, or related field (Master's preferred).
• 8-10 years of proven credit policy and/or credit risk management experience (or equivalent) across multiple functional areas or products.
• Strong conceptual thinking to design and manipulate complex mathematical models and analyze data to inform decisions.
• Ability to convert vague business objectives into concrete analysis tasks and lead a team.

Responsibilities

• Setting originations strategy across credit policy, consumer pricing, fraud, and decisioning.
• Evolving originations capabilities to expand into full-spectrum lending via technology and analytics.
• Owning P&L by developing forecast models and steering the business in a dynamic environment.
• Building and leading a world-class analytical team and developing leaders.
• Influencing executive decision-making with data-driven recommendations.
