We are hiring for the Director - Corporate Strategy & Development position within our Global Supply Chain team!

The Senior Director of Corporate Strategy and Development is responsible for leading strategic market assessments and identifying new business opportunities that align with Cencora's growth objectives. This role emphasizes strategic planning and the development of initiatives that leverage industry insights and competitive analysis.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Strategic Market Assessment:
    • Collaborate with corporate and business segment leadership to conduct comprehensive market assessments.
    • Identify and evaluate new business opportunities that enhance Cencora's competitive positioning and market presence.
  2. Strategic Planning:
    • Lead the development and implementation of strategic plans that align with organizational goals and industry trends.
    • Provide strategic insights and recommendations to business leaders on market feasibility and growth potential.
  3. Industry and Competitive Analysis:
    • Maintain a broad perspective on industry trends, including macro-economic, customer, regulatory, technology, distribution channel, product, and competitive dynamics.
    • Conduct competitive analysis and benchmarking to identify key areas for strategic development and innovation.
  4. New Business Development:
    • Guide business segment leadership through the process of evaluating and prioritizing growth initiatives.
    • Facilitate the development of strategic partnerships and collaborations that support Cencora’s long-term goals.
  5. Executive Support and Reporting:
    • Work closely with the Senior Vice President to provide insights and strategic recommendations to the Executive Management and the Board of Directors.
  6. Project Leadership:
    • Lead strategic projects and initiatives that require cross-functional collaboration and resource alignment.
  7. Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support strategic initiatives and market positioning.
  8. Compliance and Travel:
    • Ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, safety rules, and regulations.
    • Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time.
  9. Additional Duties:
    • Performs related duties as assigned.
Experience and Educational Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Strategic Management, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Extensive experience in strategic planning, market analysis, and business development within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven track record in strategic execution and leadership.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • Requires an MBA degree generally obtained from a top-tier school.
  • Minimum of 8 years of directly related and progressively responsible experience; previous experience in consulting, public accounting, investment banking, or healthcare corporate environment preferred.
Minimum Skills, Knowledge, and Ability Requirements:
  • Extensive financial expertise; knowledge of merger and acquisition activities including financial evaluations, due diligence, negotiations, and closings.
  • Ability to address complex interrelationships influencing business issues and articulate key strategies.
  • Knowledge of healthcare industry.
  • Strong critical thinking and clear, concise communication skills.
  • Ability to make balanced and insightful decisions.
  • Strong collaboration skills with team members and leadership.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
