The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

3M Corporate Strategy is a high-impact, visible team working on strategic initiatives across various businesses and regions. The team leads enterprise strategies, portfolio management, resource allocation, M&A strategy, and oversees the annual strategic planning process. As a senior professional, you'll work with top executives on high-priority initiatives focused on value creation and growth.

In this role, you will:

1. Manage the corporate strategic planning process, including strategy formulation at the executive and Board level, business case development, and presentation creation.
2. Lead portfolio management projects aimed at value creation and growth through resource allocation, new business creation, and M&A activities.
3. Drive strategic initiatives sponsored by top leadership including the CEO, CFO, and Chief Strategy Officer.
4. Monitor industry and competitive trends, developing business outlooks and forecasts.
5. Develop rigorous, data-driven analyses to support strategic recommendations.
6. Ensure strategic and financial alignment and soundness of proposals.
7. Manage a small, action-oriented team of strategy professionals.

Your Skills and Expertise

To succeed, you should have:

• A Master’s Degree or higher from an accredited institution (completed before start date).
• At least 10 years of strategy experience or equivalent in private, public, government, or military sectors.

Additional preferred qualifications include:

• At least 6 years post-MBA or post-PhD experience.
• A proven track record of innovative solutions to complex strategic issues.
• Leadership experience in high-impact projects and cross-functional teams.
• Action-oriented mindset with a focus on execution and results.
• Ability to independently lead multiple projects across various business areas.
• Confidence in interacting with senior executives and managing high-pressure situations.
• Self-starter, collaborative, diplomatic, and adaptable.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including financial and statistical analysis.
• Proficiency with MS PowerPoint and Excel.

Work Location & Travel

- Hybrid role based in Maplewood, MN, with some remote work. Travel up to 15% domestically/internationally.

- Travel to Maplewood, MN, at least 3 days a week (Tuesday-Thursday).

Additional Information

- Compensation range: $228,040 - $278,715, plus benefits.
