DIRECTOR, INTERNAL CORPORATE COMMUNICATIONS

Location: LEWISVILLE, TX (HYBRID)

$130,000 - $140,000 (DOE)

25% Bonus Eligibility + Equity Eligibility

The Director, Internal CorporateCommunicationsis an enterprise communications leader responsible forsettingthestrategythat connects GMR’s business priorities, leadershipmessagesand employee experience across 34,000+ team members and all GMRsolutions.This role is critical to helping employees understand where the organization is headed, how company priorities affect theirworkand how they contribute to GMR’s success. Withprimary accountability for internal and employee communications, this leader strengthens alignment, trust,engagementand message discipline across a complex, geographically dispersed andlargely frontlineworkforce.

This leader serves as a trusted strategic advisor to senior executives, HR and functional leaders,anticipatingorganizational communication needs, partnering proactively to solve challenges, and shaping messagestrategyand ensuring major initiatives are communicated clearly,consistentlyand credibly. The role also owns the strategy,governanceand performance of GMR’s enterprise employee communication platform GMR STAT, using it to reach, align and engage employees who are not reliably reached through traditional corporate channels.The Director leads change and transformation communications, builds and develops a high-performing communications team, and translates business decisions into strategies and communications that drive understanding,actionand engagement across the organization.

Responsibilities:
  • Set and lead GMR's enterprise internal communications strategy to connect business priorities, culture and public-company expectations across functions, regions and GMR solutions.
  • Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to executive, HR and operational leaders, partnering to engage early, shaping message strategy and surfacing risk before issues become urgent.
  • Lead the development of clear, compelling communications that simplify complex business, operational, and workforce topics.
  • Own communications measurement strategy, including platform adoption, engagement, employee feedback and channel performance, and use insights to demonstrate business impact.
  • Create communication strategies that effectively reach frontline, field-based, shift-based, employees using channels such as GMR STAT, video, print materials, digital signage, QR codes, and leader toolkits.
  • Lead communications for organizational change and transformation initiatives, supporting employee understanding, adoption, and engagement.
  • Provide executive communications counsel and content, including talking points, speeches, leadership updates, video messaging, and strategic narratives that reinforce enterprise priorities and strengthen leader credibility.
  • Oversee the strategy, governance, content, adoption, and performance of GMR STAT as a business-critical communication platform.
  • Manage communications agencies, vendors, and strategic partners, ensuring deliverables support business objectives and provide measurable value.
  • Build, coach, and develop a high-performing communications team focused on execution, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Stay current on communication trends, technologies, and best practices.
  • Collaborate effectively with remote teams across multiple time zones and provide support outside normal business hours when needed.
Qualifications:
Education & Industry Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, English, or a related field required.
  • 10+ years of experience in corporate communications, internal communications, or a related field.
  • Proven experience leading and developing high-performing communications teams.
  • Experience advising senior executives on communication strategy, messaging, and organizational change.
  • Experience communicating with large, geographically dispersed workforces, including frontline employees.
  • Experience leading communications for enterprise change, transformation, culture, or engagement initiatives.
  • Experience implementing and managing employee communication platforms.
  • Public company experience preferred. Healthcare, EMS, or related industry experience also preferred.
  • Exceptional writing, storytelling, and executive communication skills.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to connect business priorities to employee communications.
  • Executive presence and judgement, with the ability to balance strategic counsel and hands‑on execution.
  • Proven ability to assess communication challenges and develop effective solutions.
  • Excellent collaboration and relationship-building skills across all levels of the organization and ability to influence without direct authority.
  • Experience using analytics and employee insights to improve communication effectiveness.
  • Travel: Occasional travel required to support company events, operational visits, and leadership meetings.
