Job description

About Perry Weather

Perry Weather is the weather safety standard for organizations that operate outdoors. We combine on-site weather hardware with a software platform that automates alerts, siren activations, and safety decisions for more than 3,000 organizations — from the PGA of America, the NFL, and MLB to Turner Construction, thousands of school districts, cities, and golf courses. We've grown 80%+ annually for five consecutive years, and are continuing to grow.

We're headquartered in Dallas at The Centrum, in the Oak Lawn neighborhood, where our teams work together every day to help organizations make faster and safer decisions when weather puts people, assets, and operations at risk.

About the Role

Perry Weather is looking for a Director of Content Marketing to lead our content strategy, shape our voice in the market, and turn our expertise into measurable business growth.

You’ll join a driven team of builders committed to protecting hundreds of thousands of people from weather-related risks and helping organizations operate with minimal disruption. You’ll help make Perry Weather the definitive voice in weather safety by connecting our science, technology, and customer stories to the issues our buyers care about most.

This is a hands‑on leadership role with high autonomy and high accountability. You’ll set the direction for the content function, build the resources and processes to scale it, and personally help create our most important work. You’ll partner across Sales, Product Marketing, Science, Partnerships, and Creative to tell a unified story that builds credibility, reaches the right audiences, and generates qualified pipeline.

Why the Role Matters

Perry Weather is at an inflection point. We’re growing 80–100% year over year and expanding into new markets. We need a content leader who can help define how buyers understand weather safety, communicate our evolving story, and build a content function that grows with the business.

Our category has room for a clear, credible voice backed by science and customer evidence. You’ll have the opportunity to establish that voice, shape the team and strategy behind it, and make a measurable impact on Perry Weather’s growth.

Responsibilities

Content Strategy & Leadership
  • Own Perry Weather’s content strategy across our core verticals, aligning priorities with company growth goals, customer needs, and market opportunities.

  • Define the themes, editorial perspective, and signature content programs that establish Perry Weather’s authority in weather safety.

  • Build and manage the content roadmap, balancing long-term audience growth with near-term pipeline priorities.

  • Set editorial standards for quality, accuracy, consistency, and relevance across channels.

  • Lead internal contributors and external partners, identify resource needs, and build the team and operating processes required to scale.

  • Own content investment recommendations and resource allocation, making clear decisions about where to focus time and budget.

Editorial Direction & Creation
  • Lead the development of high-quality content, including original research, customer case studies, articles, executive thought leadership, video, and sales enablement materials.

  • Personally shape and create flagship content, from developing the central argument to writing and editing the final piece.

  • Partner with our Director of Science to translate technical research into clear, credible narratives with practical value for customers.

  • Work with Product Marketing to connect our editorial strategy to product positioning, buyer needs, and competitive differentiation.

  • Partner with Design and Video to turn strong ideas into compelling content across formats.

  • Build a customer storytelling program that captures measurable ROI, operational outcomes, and evidence from the field.

Distribution & Audience Growth
  • Own the strategy for organic search and answer engine visibility, connecting discoverability to qualified traffic and pipeline.

  • Ground content decisions in customer insight, using keyword and search data to support editorial judgment.

  • Develop a distribution strategy that reaches buyers where they already learn, evaluate solutions, and engage with industry peers.

  • Partner across marketing, sales, and partnerships to extend content through industry channels, campaigns, and customer conversations.

  • Build repeatable approaches to repurposing and distributing content so our strongest ideas reach more of the right people.

  • Test formats, topics, and channels, and use the results to guide investment.

Performance & Business Impact
  • Define the content function’s goals, measurement approach, and reporting cadence.

  • Track content-sourced and content-influenced pipeline alongside qualified audience growth, engagement, and conversion.

  • Partner with marketing and sales stakeholders to understand how content supports buyer progression and sales conversations.

  • Communicate results, insights, and investment priorities to leadership.

  • Use performance data and customer feedback to continually improve the strategy.

What Success Looks Like

  • Content becomes a consistent, measurable contributor to qualified pipeline and business growth.

  • Perry Weather earns recognition as an authoritative voice in heat stress prevention, lightning safety, and other weather safety topics.

  • Original research and thought leadership generate inbound interest, industry discussion, and engagement from target buyers.

  • A growing library of customer stories demonstrates quantifiable ROI and real‑world results.

  • Our strongest content reaches buyers across search, industry channels, and the sales process.

  • The content function operates with clear priorities, high editorial standards, and the capacity to scale with the business.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of content marketing or editorial experience, with demonstrated success in B2B SaaS

  • Experience leading a content function or substantial content program, including strategy, execution, distribution, and measurement.

  • A track record of driving qualified pipeline through content marketing and organic growth.

  • Experience leading people, agencies, freelancers, or cross‑functional contributors and developing the processes that help them do strong work.

  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to turn complex technical concepts into clear, compelling narratives.

  • Strong editorial judgment and experience developing original research, customer stories, and other substantive content.

  • Deep understanding of SEO, answer engine optimization, and content performance measurement.

  • Ability to set priorities, make resource tradeoffs, and communicate the business case for content investments.

  • Comfort moving between strategic leadership and hands‑on execution in a rapidly growing company.

  • Familiarity with HubSpot and WordPress is a plus.

Benefits

  • You’ll want to come into the office. Our Oak Lawn office isn't just a place to sit — it's where ideas move fast and culture stays strong. The whole team is here Monday through Friday, which means real collaboration, no chasing people down over Slack, and a genuinely fun place to spend your work days.

  • Your wellbeing is covered. Competitive health insurance, 401(k) with employer matching, and a full suite of voluntary benefits, because you shouldn't have to think twice about the basics.

  • Good people, good times. Monthly All-Hands, Office Olympics, happy hours, and more. We take the work seriously and the culture seriously too.

  • You're getting in early, and that matters. We're growing fast, but the biggest opportunities are still ahead. The people joining now will help shape what Perry Weather becomes.
