Job summary

SPM Resources in Charlotte, NC seeks an experienced Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Department Manager to lead and provide technical engineering oversight for CMT projects from planning through completion for new and existing clients. The CMT Department Manager will manage both projects, clients and CMT personnel.

This role also drives daily engineering operations, project scopes, budgets, and schedules to align with senior management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management.
• 7-10+ years of professional geotechnical or related engineering experience.
• PE license is preferred, not required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and lead the CMT department, including projects, personnel and P&L.
• Manage full lifecycle of field services engineering projects and laboratory testing.
• Provide senior technical oversight on complex proposals and projects.
• Ensure adherence to best practices, safety standards, quality control, and regulatory guidelines.
• Review invoices and budgets; track financial performance.
